Did you know that when you referee you can earn high school credits!

Under the Ministry of Education you can be a part of the External Credit Program.

Here is how it works.

Official (Referee) Requirements

Referee / Official / Athlete 10

Successfully passed the Small Sided Games Referee Clinic and obtain a letter from your Local Club or District Soccer Association outlining involvement, including a minimum of 25 hours of practical officiating experience. Submit this letter to the BC Soccer Office.

Referee / Official / Athlete 11

Successfully passed the BC Soccer Entry Level Referee Clinic and obtain a letter from the Local Club or District Soccer Association outlining involvement, including a minimum of 50 additional hours of practical officiating experience from Official 10. Submit this letter to the BC Soccer Office.

Referee / Official / Athlete 12

Successfully passed of the BC Soccer Entry Level Referee Clinic and obtain a letter from the Local District Soccer Association outlining involvement, including a minimum of 50 additional hours of practical officiating experience from Official 11. Submit this letter to the BC Soccer Office.

Referee/Official 10 = 2 credits

Referee/Official 11= 4 credits

Referee/Official 12 = 4 credits

You must keep track of your games with a log sheet in order to prove to the Association that you have completed your hours. If you have been refereeing for a long time and have not done this, don’t worry.

If you qualify for the any of the above please email Dave Sherwood at:

Headref@pocosoccer.com

With your name, address, phone number and what level you are applying for.

Thank you

Dave Sherwood
